Introduction: A Microphone for the Community

In Porter County, media can do more than entertain — it can unite and inform. WVLP Community Radio has taken that mission to heart. As a Hub Coalition of Porter County grant recipient, WVLP uses its platform to amplify important conversations on mental health, substance use prevention, and recovery.

Amplifying the Conversation on the Airwaves

WVLP has been part of the Valparaiso scene for years, offering music, interviews, and community updates. Our partnership has helped them dedicate time to shows that address behavioral health, breaking stigma and connecting listeners to resources. These programs often feature local experts, advocates, and those with lived experience, making the information relatable and actionable.

Why This Partnership Works

Not everyone can make it to a training session or coalition meeting. WVLP bridges that gap, delivering important information directly into people’s homes and cars. Their broadcasts reach individuals who might otherwise miss these life-changing conversations.

Spreading the Word Beyond the Radio

WVLP often features segments from our nationally recognized Matters of Substance podcast, highlights local prevention events, and promotes harm reduction initiatives. This extends the reach of every program we run.

Tune In and Make a Difference

You can help strengthen WVLP’s community impact by tuning in regularly, sharing their programs, and supporting their mission. When we work together to spread awareness, we make it easier for Porter County residents to find the help and hope they need.
